Kamal Basra
Kamal is a former Director of the InterSpiritual Centre, and a founding member of its Women and Wisdom project. Although Kamal was born into the Sikh religion, she has explored various other faith practices as well. She believes that building bridges and interfaith dialogue are key to many of the issues we face locally and globally.
Kamal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from SFU, and has established a Bursary to assist First Nations students in SFU’s Faculty of Science and a Bursary at the YWCA to help young mothers continue their education studies. As a mentor, Kamal is active in many organizations and has served on the City of Vancouver Women’s Advisory Committee and the Board of Women in Leadership Foundation.
Kamal co-founded Sophia financial Group, a company that provides education, long term financial planning, and investment management solutions for clients. She believes that creating solid financial foundations allows more people to share their true gifts with the world and create positive lasting change.
